Editing - Day one (25/02/2013)

We started to edit the first day back from our half term. All our filming has been finished therefore we had to start editing as our rough cut deadline was the following thursday.

Firstly we watched all the clips and put the one which were definitely going to use on final cut pro so we didn't have to keep going back to look for the clips which we wanted. We did not put them in order as we just wanted the ones we definitely wanted to use in the timeline. When we finished doing this we started to put the clips in order. The order that we decided to put it in was: the bedroom scene; the park scene; the photograph scene; the zebra crossing scene and then back to the bedroom scene.

After this was done we thought we should start adding effects which suit the thriller. The first effect we added was in the photograph scene; we added a glow and blur filter to make it un-realistic as it is only a dream. We did not have much time to edit more of the sequence.

We all decided and agreed to edit the rest of the sequence when we had a free lesson to make it easier for each other and speed up the editing process. I decided to spend my thursday lunchtime editing some of the opening as it was the only time I was able to.

Overall the first time editing the opening sequence was not difficult because we was editing as a group and we focused mostly on putting it in order. Due to the practise of editing we had before it made it easier for us to edit however I have never used filters before this day therefore i knew that the hardest part was yet to come.
