Dramatic Filming effects
There are a range of filming effects that movie makers use to heighten our emotions and set the tone for a certain scene. To make a scene more dramatic, directors, writers and set designers use a mix of lighting, sound and other effects during filming and later when it is being edited. This process is often overlooked by the average movie fan, but dramatic filming techniques are an important part of the art that is movie-making.
Editing is probably the main focus of a psychological or horror films in order create successful affects.
Parts of our opening has been filmed with a lack of lighting. This is purposely done to create curiosity and suspense in order to draw the audience into the excitement of something new to be revealed.
Lighting a character or an object from the side or the bottom makes the subject of the scene appear evil or dangerous.
