I managed the group dynamics by just not letting my emotions get in the way of the production process of Kama. It was best that way, because then I focused on what I would achieve if my group had gotten in further argumentative discussions which was nothing but a bad opening and further arguments.
My group and I made sure that whoever lived closer or went past the college on the day of the filming that they would pick the equipment up first.
Each person was aware of the background information of the character they played and therefore we all had clothes that we thought best suited our role.
We all collaborated in the nature of film-making, I was the actor as well as the director because I called up the children, offered my house as the ideal place to film the bedroom scene as well as the park. Esme, was behind the camera; directing. Abida was also acting and at the same time directing. Alisha was acting.
There were health and safety and logistical problems we faced. However, we were aware of the risks that the equipment could have been stolen therefore we kept an eye on the equipment at all times and when we had the equipment we made sure that we were not alone.
Because the filming took place in my area because the equipment had less risk in being stolen. My secondary school is close by and therefore I put up notices for people who knew children or have brothers/sisters/cousins aged 9-12 years of age, that enjoy acting, are permitted and willing to take part in Karma.#
I managed to get the actors and locations. As a group we all thought of the colour of the costumes and certain props. We decided not to use scissors to cut the photographs because we wanted to reduce the risk of Abida getting hurt.
