Foley sounds

I want to use foley sounds instead of the diegetic sounds we have from filming for many reasons. They will build the mood because we can make them more echoey and tense, our film opening is not meant to be natural and realistic so foley sounds will help to make this obvious to the audience what is going on.
I think by recording a range of foley sounds with my group as another layer over the soundtrack, this will create tension and we can also make much better quality sounds than we have already in the footage.
Our foley sounds will be words which Mercy bullied Ivory with as a child such as "Revenge, hatred, loneliness, redemption, regret, anger, remorse, payback, trapped, hurt, death, darkness, guilt"
We have done some practice foley sounds of ripping paper for Ivory's scene and it worked quite well so far. We also want to record foley sounds of voices, maybe crying and footsteps...
When we were practising recording some foley sounds we tried different ways of saying them. we tried saying the words in a round so that we all said the same word one after the other and also getting louder towards the end to build tension. We learnt from this practise to put the camera mic close to us so that the words were clear for when we upload them onto our final cut.
