My knowledge before my research on thrillers

I have realised that before my group and I came up with the sub-genre for Karma which is psychological thriller I prefered our thriller subgenre to be romantic comedy. The reason for this is the fact that romantic comedies appeal more to me. Before I started my research on thrillers and their subgenres I knew nothing compared to the knowledge I have of them now. I wasn't aware that there are, in fact many different thrillers and quite frankly I was gosmacked when I had found them all. All I ever watched was romantic comedies and therefore I felt as if it were the only subgenre that appealed to me more. All I thought of thrillers were that they were scary and sometimes had to do with crime and investigation. When I found out that there were romantic comedy thrillers I wanted to see how the films incorporated the 'thriller' and I found 3 films that I particularly enjoyed. I have looked at Unfaithful, Mr and Mrs Smith and Birdemick: Shock and Terror.

Unfaithful (2002):

Unfaithful is about a couple living in New York. The wife begins to have a sexual affair with a French man. The husband hires a spy to find out if anything strange is going on and if she is in fact committing adultery.

Mr and Mrs Smith (2005):

A couple find out that they are both assassins however they belong to different agencies whom compete with each other. They discover that their task is to kill each other.

Birdemick: Shock and Terror (2008):

Dozens of eagles and vultures attack the residents of a small town. Many people die however nobody knows what caused them to attack. Two people manage to fight back.
