What did we learn from re-making Juno?
From our experience we have learnt that if the shots are not accurate and fully focused then it will be noticeable and will have a negative impact on the audience. Now that we have noticed our wrong doing, one tip for an improvement would be to manually focus each shot and use the tripod to level it out so it will follow the sequence well.
According to Abida the transitions were very fast because we could not see the shot properly. She thinks that we should have had more time focusing on the clip rather than fading it. An improvement would be to expand the clip and reduce the timing of the transition.
Regarding the story board we have all learnt that the drawings do not have to be accurate as it only has to capture the type of shot that it is and what is happening in the shot. We have learnt that we should not spend much time on the storyboard as it will reduce time for shooting. The storyboard does not have to be professional however the film is the main object. From this we will next time spend less time on the storyboard an annotate it instead of making it look perfect and spend and focus more time on the shooting.
In addition to this we have learnt that the shot order is really important; this is because when they are not important it is really recognizable. For example in the Juno remake we have noticed that when Andreia walks into the building the shot is repeated and therefore it looks like she enters the building twice. Next time we will make sure that our shots are in order so that we can prevent this mistake from being repeated.
In the re-make we also realised that when we are editing the re-make we need to copy and paste the clips to the hard-drive as if we do not then, our work may be deleted or may not come up when we try to carry on editing the sequence. Next time we will remember to copy and paste the clips onto the hard drive to prevent any chaos.
